Ok this is the second time this has happened. Currently when Firefox auto-updates, it resets the locale from gd-GB to en-US. When I go to Options > Language, gd-GB isn't even offered any more. I have to "Search for more languages" and "Select a language to add", "Add" and the remove English.
Something is wrong in the updater, it can't even be getting this from my OS locale (not that it should even try to...) because I'm on Win 10 with a gd-GB UI.

Just noticed that I cannot even remove en-US as a locale from Firefox, not even after adding gd-GB and restarting.

Sadly, it's a known problem with language packs (bug 1566084).
If you have admin rights on your machine, you could download and install the gd
version.

Based on the fact that you can't remove en-US
, you're currently using the en-US
build, and added another language on top (via language packs).
It's expected to not be able to remove the language of the build.
If you were using Scottish Gaelic before, the language pack was only disabled. Going in about:addons, Languages tab, and manually searching for updates should solve the problem, and re-enable existing language packs.
