Details

I noticed some weeks ago during the Thunderbird beta 75 cycle that crashes have a version number of 75.0 instead of 75.0b0 - as shown in the statistics for version 75 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/search/?release_channel=beta&product=Thunderbird&date=%3E%3D2019-12-30T17%3A49%3A00.000Z&date=%3C2020-05-11T17%3A49%3A00.000Z&_facets=signature&_facets=version&_sort=-date&_columns=date&_columns=signature&_columns=product&_columns=version&_columns=build_id&_columns=platform#facet-version So the "b0" got dropped.

We'd like to understand whether it's a) an intentional change and if not, b) is the issue on the Socorro end, or c) in how Thunderbird is packaged and crashes reported.

I'm guessing it is not "c" because I just noticed that crashes for other versions also lost the "b0" right around April 1, for example bp-c65b4967-a9e6-4d46-913d-151a70200401 2020-04-01 18:37:04 From the crash
Product Thunderbird

Ahh... the date helps a ton!

I had to rework the BetaVersionRule to handle Fenix correctly. That was done in bug #1626618 which was deployed to production on April 1st. That definitely would have changed version strings for Thunderbird beta releases.

Marking this as WONTFIX.
