Expected results:
I suggest sub/superscript text style shortcuts should exist: personally, I need them regularly

a) Well, I can confirm that in most cases I prefer shortcuts to menu.
b) I don't know a shortcut for this
c) I don't have experience with Add-ons or other workarounds for this. Only one I know is Menu Wizard, sounds promising, I will check whether it works.

c) Menu Wizard (fom ca-archive) worked fine for me for some short tests, but it only seems to allow to change existing shortcuts,not to add new ones.
