We're currently testing a Fenix 5.1/77 build and waiting on some crash fixes. This isn't ready to roll out now, but giving a heads up here.

We're not ready to roll out yet, but when we do, we would like to do the following phases:

Fenix 5.1 to 25%, Firefox Beta 77 to 10%
Fenix 5.1 to 100%, Firefox Beta 77 to 25%
Firefox Beta 77 to 100%

and can check in at each stage in this bug once we've checked for crashes.

Also, for release notes, we'll be re-branding Firefox Beta to remove all mentions of beta as part of an experiment, so the Release Notes should NOT make any references to beta, simply "Firefox".

We're waiting for final sign-off from QA (Monday), but then we should be ready to start rollout on both Fenix and Firefox Beta channels!

Since the issues added to 5.1 are uplifts from existing issues, I'm comfortable starting rollout for Fenix 5.1, and waiting another day on Firefox Beta.

Can we start rollout of Firefox Preview only, to 5%? The apk should be built by now, and the release notes covered here: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/releases/tag/v5.1.0

Monday was a national holiday in Romania so we weren't available for a signoff, but we'll send it today by EOD. Thank you!

Got a green signoff from QA, so we're good to bump some percentages! No critical crashes seen on Firefox Preview so far.

Firefox Preview: 25%
Firefox Beta: 5%

(accelerating these percentages because of the extensive testing, and bc we want to hit a better release cadence)

There's one crash bug 1641040 that's also being tracked in Fenix https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/10709
It looks bad, but it's going to be better to see how the numbers look based on our timelines. And I guess we're not going to be crash-free ever...

Firefox Preview is ready to roll out to 100%, and for this specific case with Beta, I don't think there's anything to be gained by waiting longer, so let's finish a rollout for both.
