User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/81.0.4044.123 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

I tried to compose a new mail to huber@mail.invalid

Actual results:

Since there was already a mail contact like karl.huber@mail.invalid in some prior conversation, Seamonkey always suggested this one and even replaced "huber@mail.invalid" with "karl.hber@mail.invalid" when pressing the enter key. This even happened when deleting the auto suggestion (by pressing del) and pressing enter afterwards.
I had to type <huber@mail.invalid> to manage to send to that one.

Not that in a big company there are often people with the same surnames or similar names. So this behaviour is quite unhandy and can lead to mailing wrong people by mistake.

Expected results:

Thunderbird 68.9 will keep "huber@mail.invalid" if you delete the auto suggestions, which can be a way to handle this.
However, Seamonkey should not ignore if you don't want to use the contact of the auto suggestion.

Sounds similar to Bug 1138033 Overzealous address-autocompletion without possibility to correct address (no way of composing to email addresses which are similar to existing addresses in AB; can't remove or correct display name of first preselected matching contact result)

Yes, I think these bugs can be merged.
Wow, 19 years.

In TB I can use TAB. Don't see a way to do this here other than to disable autocomplete temporarily. So best to keep this bug open.

Tab in TB also autocompletes (one of those things), so I doubt that's a feasible workaround even in TB.

At least you can force it with deletion and TAB. Was unable to do so in SeaMonkey which stubbornly restored the address from the address book.
