Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android 7.0; Tablet; rv:68.0) Gecko/68.0 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
Appears on all "new interface" versions. Ivm running on a pretty clean nVidea tablet running Android 7.0. It does not occur on my Motorola cell phone running 10.0 Android.
Actual results:
Thank you for your response. I believe that I have tried all the "new look" variants with the same results. I am a retired software developer /IT guy, so have tried to be systematic.

Running on a pretty clean nVidea tablet with Android 7.0. It does not occur on my Motorola cell phone running 10.0 Android.
-
Opening / home screen renders. Attempting to move from there either via a search, the selection of a URL, or the selection of a top sites or collection item and the screen goes black. Nothing goes beyond that. It occurs 100 % of the time.
-
Tested each of the various other "new interface" variants. Each goes black during the setup process as I try to set up my account / sync.
Expected results:
Expect move to / render of screen associated with selected URL.

With "all "new interface" versions" do you mean Firefox Preview (aka Fenix) ?
Thank you for responding.
The Nightly Developer's Preview has been my default browser of Firefox. When the "black screen" problem appeared, I tested each (I believe) of the variants with this Fenix interface with the same results.
I should add for your info that my nVidea tablet has a variety of hardware acceleration options for video. Developer options allow for me to turn them off/on. I have tested in all modes and am currently running with them off so that I can test new versions of "nightly" as Firefox is updated.
Thank you for taking this problem on. This new version is a performer and I am liking the UI increasingly as it evolves. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1644481

Are you able to navigate, on the NVIDIA tablet, to about:support in Firefox or Firefox Preview to attach the output to the bug? It would help to know what the underlying GPU is. Either way, can you tell us the specific model you have? Thanks!
