Steps to reproduce
- With multiple tabs opened
- A tab whose title contains some keyword
- Type the keyword (eg.
main-preview
in screenshot 1)
Expected results
- I would expect the opened tab to be the first suggestion, so that I can jump to it
Actual results
- It shows entries from history, some entries are very old
- If I type a more precise set of keywords (screenshot 2), then the opened tab shows up

it sounds like a ranking problem, the open tab doesn't have an high enough ranking to stay on top of other results. We discussed many times how to sort open tabs compared to other entries, some users woukd like them at the top, others don't.
I think it's pretty much bug 546254

Note you can search tabs only using the '%' char modifier, for example by typing '% main-preview'.
We have a plan to make this more discoverable related to bug 1644572.

Personally, I have different expectations when I have 4 tabs opened (I can use ctrl+pagedown/up to jump to a tab), than when I have 40 tabs opened (I use keywords to jump to an opened tab).
It looks indeed like a duplicate of bug 546254

Coming back to this -- looks like there's agreement that this is bug 546254, so I'll dupe it.
