In the Identity section of the Account Wizard, leaving the Your Name field blank and clicking Next brings up the Alert: "Please enter your name." The Account Wizard will not allow you to progress unless you enter something into the Full Name field. While I'm not familiar with standards, I don't think Full Name should be a required field. After all, Mozilla allows me to remove it from Account Settings, and I can send fine; I just end up with my e-mail address for Sender instead of my "name." So is it really necessary to have the Account Wizard require the Full Name?
Looks good to me, no obvious dupe, so I'm confirming. This occurs in the 2002-08-24 nightly build.

More than 6 years ago!?!? Furtermore, smtp-server is also required. I might have accounts that I just want to receive e-mail on, not send anything from (I actually have two such accounts). Remove this requirement. Or better yet, give advanced user a way to directly enter account details without any 'helpful' wizard.
This bug should also apply to Thunderbird (or is there a similar report for TB?)
still exists. easily avoided however in two ways: * delete name after account creation * enter a space as the name during account creation
