Building on the work that was done here in this dashboard, this is to start tracking not just update orphans by client and pref states, but also errors. This is related to ongoing work to move the existing update orphaning dashboard over to BQ.

It'll be something tracking similar info as to what we have in the Out of date, potentially of concern reason distribution section of the existing dash.

Status update: I've got together a draft query that I'm going to get reviewed by DS for accuracy just in case before I go much further. Once that's done, I plan to go through the existing update histograms and make similar queries that are:

  1. Split out to separate "status" reporting from actual errors.
  2. Include some detail where relevant around Firefox version.

Got queries reviewed by DS and am starting to add to a dashboard here - Each update histogram includes filtered values for errors only. Next steps:

  1. Sort out the highest priority histograms to track and add them to the dashboard.
  2. Add beta & nightly channels.

I wound up tracking the update status codes instead since those are all errors. Dashboard lives here.

I'm going to close this out for now although there's plenty more histograms to track - will open separate issues in future to convert more of them to dashboards.
