Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:79.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/79.0

Steps to reproduce:

Gnome has an emoji panel that opens with Ctrl-., see https://askubuntu.com/a/1045916. It doesn't seem to work in Firefox.

Actual results:

Nothing.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
OS: Unspecified → Linux
Product: Firefox → Core
Hardware: Unspecified → Desktop
Priority: -- → P3

I see that the unicode emoji can be copied to firefox via. clipboard but looks different than at gedit.

The third and fourth solutions on askubuntu.com rely on the clipboard, but the first one (Ctrl-. to open the panel) should insert the emoji directly.
