Steps how to reproduce with installation of unofficial (by wg9s) De SeaMonkey 2.53.4beta 1 pre Mozilla/5.0 (NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 Build 20200604210008 (Default Classic Theme, newly created User Profile) on German WIN7 64bit:

  1. open http://www.pkcarlisle.com/blog.html (sample for "Bug 1009203 Colors used in Composer are changed when editing an existing HTML page")
  2. Menu ˋFile → Editˊ
    » Page opens in Composer
  3. Save file on HDD
  4. Click '<HTML source> tab
    » Expected: HTML source shown
Actual: SM freezes with high CPU load 😥

Additional info

a) also a problem with newly created User Profile
b) I will check later with which version that problem appeared.

It does not freeze. It just takes some time to load/build the source tree. Rest assured composer was never designed for these types of websites.

Still REPRODUCIBLE with ZIP of en-US SeaMonkey 2.53.18 Beta 1 Pre Mozilla/5.0 (NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.18 Build 20230707110003 (normal user Profile), Default Classic Theme on German WIN10 64bit

It will probably never fixed. Would need a rewrite to handle these large html blobs and later web features. It is ok for small and simple stuff only.
