User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826
<textarea style="height:100%;width:100%;" id="ta" name="msgtext" rows="16"
cols="60" wrap="virtual"></textarea>
In Mozilla < v1.1, displays fine. In IE 6, displays fine. Under Mozilla
v1.1, the text area displays as a single half-height line (half-height in that
as you type, you only see the top half of the letters you are typing).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Navigate to http://www.lostcommunity.org
2. Click on "go to the discussion boards" link, top-right of page.
3. Choose a forum (any will do)
4. Click on "New Topic" link, top-left of page.
5. Should be able to see the text area next to the "Message:" static text.
Actual Results:
Text area is single row, half-height.
Expected Results:
Text area should take up entire width of table cell (it does) and have
multiple rows displaying.

Works in: 2002-06-02-21
Broken in: 2002-06-03-21
Not quite sure what in that range would have caused this to regress... the only
layout-ish patch there is the nsFormFrame removal...

slightly edited code:
<form><table width="100%" height="100%">
<tr>
<td height="20" width="80">Author:</td>
<td><input type="text" size="35" maxlength=35 value=""></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td height="20" width="80">Email:</td>
<td><input type="text" size="35" maxlength=35 value=""></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td height="20" width="80">Subject:</td>
<td><input type="text" size=100 maxlength=100></td></tr>
<tr>
<td width="80" valign=top>Message:</td>
<td valign=top>
<textarea style="height:100%;width:100%;" rows="16" cols="60"></textarea>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td height="20"> </td>
<td><input type="submit" value="Post Message"></td>
</tr>
</table></form>
--
I don't think <table> does height="100%". Even if it does, it doesn't
make any sense since table is not inside another table or styled div.
In the case of <textarea style="height:100%;width:100%;" ..>,
apparently css rules take precedence and since Mozilla doesn't know
what height:100% really means, only one line is shown.
btw, if
<td valign=top><textarea ...></textarea>
is changed to
<td valign=top height="###"><textarea ...></textarea>
textarea would have multiple lines (since Mozilla has some value to
compute textarea height against).
remove regression keyword (Boris, do you agree with this?)

WFM in a current Mozilla build, Windows NT. Reporter, do you still see the problem?
Sounds like this only happened in certain 1.1 builds.
WFM Mozilla nightly 2003022709.
