User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0
Steps to reproduce:
I unistalled Firefox, resetted and now I'm no more able to play audio and video protected (Spotify, DisneyPlus and all streaming platforms)
Actual results:
A yellow banner say: Firefox is installing components needed to play the audio or video on this page. Please try again later.
The message never disappear also if I try later, i unistall Firefox, reset Firefox, delete profiles, etc.
Expected results:
Firefox is the only one browser that show a banner to try later because need install something. All other browser works when I go on spotify, DisneyPlus, etc.
Why Firefox is forbiding me to watch videos with a message that is not clear how much time I have to wait and is not resolving.
How I can resolve now this issue?
Same issue with Firefox 78.0.2 and 79ob6
I hate how Firefox manage this. Has no sense... Is stopping me to be able to use paid services.
The issue is the component is not installed on Firefox and the download arrive from Google so maybe some rules (inserted in the Wndows hosts file) for block invasive ads was locking also the download of this plugin.
How I can know the URL where this component is download so I can check why was locked?
Found the problematic rule:
0.0.0.0 redirector.gvt1.com
I cleaned hosts file of Windows and now all works.
