Affected versions
Nightly 80 - since V2 doorhanger functionality landed with Bug 1641415
Tested on
Windows 10 x64
Steps to reproduce
- Launch Firefox
- Go to any registration form, such as Facebook, Reddit etc
- Fill in all the requested field (maybe edits several fields again to have multiple suggestions)
- Clear out the password field
- Click on the grey key icon to toggle the dismissed doorhanger
- Click on the arrow to see the list of suggested usernames
- Click directly on the New Password field
Expected result
The autocomplete dropdown should be displayed only once and only with the Password Generation option
Actual Result
The list of the suggested usernames is shown for a split second. See https://streamable.com/65viq2
Regression-range
Not a regression as it can be reproduced on the very first day when Bug 1641415 enabled this new functionality.
Notes
The recording is made with a phone and with slow motion for a better view. Sorry for the background noise.

I've been trying for a while here, but I'm unable to reproduce on either my MacOs or Windows 10 x64 devices, both on Nightly 80.0a1 (2020-07-14). Is this consistently reproducible on your end? Is this reproducible for you on multiple devices? I may have to try a speculative fix and ask you to verify if I can't manage to repro on my end.

Yes, I can reproduce this reliably on Win10 and also asked Andrei to check it out and he also confirmed. Make sure the list of suggestions is populated at least with 4-5 long string so it will be more visible when it happens. I can't record it on my end since the screen recorder skips that specific frame. If you will have try fixes feel free to ping me and I will check it out.

I've retested and this was not fixed by bug 1652720. Darn.

Saw this happens a couple of times intermittently on FX 81, updating flag.
