Please give an example site. It may be your hidden prefs.

Whoops. There wasn't supposed to be text in that second post; I was changing bug
parameters. Anyway, I see this bug also, and it is likely a recent regression.
Will have a look, but so far it appears to be only occuring at
<website>/favicon.ico.
Reporter: can you see the website icons at mozilla.org and at mozillanews.org?

I believe this (favicons) was turned off, but there is a pref to turn it on. Now
either the Appearance UI-pref is not working, or it was decided that favicons
are out period, and that the UI-pref only applies to real website icons (i.e.
you can only enable favicon support through hidden prefs, not through the
Preferences menu). I also used to see favicons, however now that you mention it,
I don't. This, however may be due to my user.js' recent deletion. So I could
just be confused. Or am I? I don't know...

Try this: Create a blank file called user.js (making a text file and renaming it
to user.js would do the trick) and place it in your Profile folder (your profile
is by default in (C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\<your profile
name>\<generated folder name>\). You have the right folder if it includes
bookmarks.html. In user.js, add the following text, and save:
user_pref("browser.chrome.favicons",true);
Open Mozilla and try. Do you see the icons?
I had this setting up until very recently, and I could see favicons. I thought
that there was also a UI-pref for it but I may have been wrong. We'll see.

No response from reporter. Favicons WFM now that my profile is uncorrupted. This
is my bad. INVALID problem in the first place.

v. As a clarification, Reporter stated in an email that only /favicon.ico didn't
work.
