this is currently the #2 browser crash after a few hours of rollout of firefox 79.0 - all reports are coming from older macos versions <10.12 which should have gotten deprecated in this version in bug 1634765.
are we mistakenly serving auto-updates to or fresh downloads to 79.0 to those users for this signature to show up this frequently?

Ryan is on PTO. :jcristau, would you know how to verify this?

We were serving updates to 79 to users who somehow installed 78 non-esr on those platforms. This is now fixed.
We should probably keep monitoring this, though, since both updates and the download page should be pointing those users at 78esr, so I'm not sure how they would end up on 78 non-esr in the first place.

This crash still happens on 78.0 if the update channel is set to release-localtest on Mac OS 10.9.
