Prerequisites:

  • a fresh profile is created
  • ETP set to Strict
  • extensions.webcompat.enable_shims pref set to true

Testing environment:
Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 81.0a1 (2020-08-04)
Operating System: macOS 10.15.6

STR:

  1. Access https://www.grammarly.com/signin?allowUtmParams=true.
  2. Click the "Continue with Facebook" button from the login form.
  3. Fill in the credentials to connect with your Facebook account and click the "Log in" button.
  4. Observe the behavior.

Expected result:
The user must be logged in and redirected to the app dashboard.

Actual result:
The user is not logged in and the login page is still displayed.

Notes:

  1. The issue is not reproducible in Chrome 84.0.4147.105.
  2. The issue is not reproducible with ETP set to Standard.

The issue is also reproducible on mobile devices.

Tested with:
Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 200901(🦎 82.0a1-20200829091226)
Operating System: OnePlus6 (Android 10) - 1080 x 2280 pixels (~402 ppi pixel density)

The site is now using a different method to show the Facebook popup which works in Strict mode.
