Details

(Whiteboard: [cc-autofill-reserve])

Affected version:
Fx80 and FX81 - if CC specific prefs are enabled

Tested on:
Windows 10

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Have multiple CC profiles saved
  2. Go to https://luke-chang.github.io/autofill-demo/basic_cc.html
  3. Focus the Card Number field and start typing in a new CC number or copy-paste it

Expected Result:
Since the card number autofill dropdown is never filtered based on field input (like it happens for Name, Exp Year), it would be better to dismiss it once the user start typing in a CC number or after copy-pasting one, regardless if we have it in storage or not.

Actual Result:
At this point, the CC autofill dropdown is displayed at all times if the field is focused and offers irrelevant info given the user is manually typing in a new/saved card number or copy-pasting one.

Regression-range:
Pretty sure it always worked like this, doesn't seem to be a regression.
