Details

(Whiteboard: [ccautofill])

Affected Versions:
All - if CC prefs are enabled

Tested on:
Windows 10 and MacOS 10.13

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Reach the payment form of the affected sites
  2. Fill in with bogus credit card info and submit the form or proceed further

Expected Result:
The Credit Card save doorhanger should be displayed to allow the user to save the CC info

Actual Result:
The credit card save doorhanger is not displayed.

Affected Sites:
P2 priority:

  1. Apple.com
  2. The Home Depot
  3. Lowes
  4. Best Buy
  5. CanadianTire.ca

P3 priority:

  1. Target
  2. Porter and York (CC doorhanger will be displayed after leaving the page)
  3. The Good Batch (CC doorhanger will be displayed after leaving the page)
  4. Gap

Please note that for all the above-mentioned sites we have the same issue on Chrome as well.

Regression-range:
Most likely Site Compatibility issues rather than regressions. Chrome is also affected.

Suggested-severity:
S3 severity since this are all sites issues, rather than Firefox issues. However, looking at the P2 priority sites as possible candidates for S2 severity.

Please note that the payment flow did not reach the end since we can't pass Credit Card validation due to usage of generated numbers but that still should allow the CC doorhanger to be displayed, like it happens on pages like: Amazon and Etsy

Adding Macy's too based on Bug 1642062

Severity: -- → S4
Priority: -- → P3

Reproducible in latest Firefox Nightly 85.0a1 (2020-11-17) on homedepot.ca, newegg.ca, clementinefields.ca and 1861.ca as well.
