User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:82.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/82.0

Steps to reproduce:

Right click on something that should give a right-click menu.

My setup:

  • Dual monitors, firefox was on the left monitor,
  • Wayland (swaywm)

Actual results:

The context menu was at the wrong place (other side of screen).

Expected results:

It should be at the correct place.

Oddly enough, after clicking the hamburger menu, the issue was fixed and I can no longer reproduce the issue, but is happens from time to time. I'll add more context to this issue when I figure out in what circumstances this occurs. This also happens in Thunderbird sometimes, not in other applications.

Hi,

I will move this over to a component so developers can take a look over it.

Thanks for the report!

Best regards, Clara.

I do not have the issues in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1636943 .
Everything stays in the window. Do if I move left more, the context menu stays at the left edge of the window.

I still don't know how to reproduce the problem exactly, but it is fixed by clicking the FF hamburger menu.

I now had this issue in FF 80.0 (64-bit, from the nixos repository) with swaywm.

Change the status for beta to have the same as nightly and release.

Just an update:

I haven't seen this issue for a while now (I'm currently on FF 84.0.1 (64-bit) from the NixOS repository still running under swaywm (sway 1.5.1)). I think the last time I had this issue was 4 months ago (so I forgot all about this issue). It seems like no other people have this problem, so I assume it is fixed.

I second comment #5, also the issue #1636943 I linked cannot reproduce anymore.

(I am on FF 85.0b6, sway 1.5 and no xwayland)

This issue cropped up for me again in 84.0.2 (64-bit) while on multi monitor, all pop-ups (context menu and extension pop-ups show up on the other screen). I'll see if I can upgrade to 85 soon to see if this issue is still there.

(I'll comment on the other issue, as I think this one might be a duplicate indeed, or I'm now experiencing that problem).

This issue crops up for me again in 85.
