Obviously I'm using Netscape 4.79 to submit this bug. The problem is I did an
install of the latest nightly build Mozilla 1.1.0.2002090308 on top of
Mozilla 1.1.0.2002082108. Upon completion of the install the browser tried to
open as usual, however all I got was a small window titled "Alert". Thinking
that closing this would open the full browser. Nada....it just closed the
browser completely. I did an uninstall, using the uninstall on my programs menu
for Mozilla. Thinking again that if I re-installed from
the mozilla-win32-installer-sea. exe file I downloaded it would fix the problem.
Nada again, same problem came up. So thinking again I downloaded a second
mozilla-win32-installer-sea. exe file from the latest nightly ftp site. Again
uninstalling the previous one I tried installing the newest download. Nada
again, same results. Is there a bug in the downloads....?? Or has something been
changed on my computer..?? Should I do a complete cleaning of all files
associated with Mozilla before re-installing...?? or might it be I just need to
re-start my computer to see what happens....?? Help....!!!
Never install over a previous version. Always uninstall first. This would not
have chanced this problem, though.
