Test Env: Mozilla 1.1 on hpux11, windows 2000 Repeat steps. 1) open mail and news window, edit account 2) check "check for new mail at startup" 3) close, send a email from another client, 4) reopen, it should recv new email this func doesn't work

No reponse from reporter. POP3 and IMAP are fundamentally different when it comes to handling mail. If you're using POP3, note that you also have to check "Automatically download new message". There is a difference between checking for new mail and physically downloading that new mail.
marking worksforme. also, these prefs require restart (we have bugs on this).
