In the telemetry environment ping, searchCohort used to reflect the value of the browser.search.cohort preference which was allocated from the legacy AB search servers which are no longer used.

We should therefore either remove it (and clear out the preference from user's profiles), or change it.

The one possibility for changing it would be to report the browser.search.experiment pref, which has a similar function - however, that preference is only set by Normandy experiments, so I don't think we actually need it to be reported in the environment as well.

Ben, please can you confirm this last point?

I can confirm it is OK to remove this field (and forgo the latter pref as well). We use events to identify experiment membership.
