At the moment I have 15 open tabs: several webmails, 4 Mozilla wiki sites, Twitter, Facebook, Pontoon, Element, WhatsApp and a bank site.

One of the wikis doesn't have the F, nor do the webmails, Twitter, Pontoon, Facebook, Element, nor the bank site.

STR

1. Start Nightly.
2. Set "fission.autostart" to true in about:config
3. Restart.
4. Open sevaral tabs such as webmails, Twittter, and any other you like.
5. Notice some of them don't show the F.

Gabriela and I chatted in email. Gabriela added:

I did enable both fission prefs ( fission.autostart and gfx.webrender.all) in one of my profiles, restarted Nightly and even saw the F in my tabs. Then I closed that profile and at restart there was no F in any tab! I tried several times with that profile without any addons but it failed every time.

I finally created a new profile, sure that it would work, but it didn't. Should all the tabs have the F or only certain ones?

I believe only the loaded tabs will show [F] so a tab gets unloaded, hovering over that tab will not show the [F] but if you go to that tab, it should get loaded and then it will show the [F].
All loaded tabs irrespective of the origin should show the [F] indicator.

Yes, this is mostly correct. The [F] will only show up for a loaded tab loaded in a content process. There are two major cases where you won't see an [F]:

1. If the tab is unloaded, e.g. due to session restore not having run yet, it will not have an [F].
2. If the tab is a system-provided page loaded in the parent process, such as about:config or about:preferences, it will not have an [F].

Could you try selecting these tabs which don't have a [F] waiting for them to load, and check whether they still are missing the [F] suffix?

Yes, you are right! All reloaded tabs show the F except about:support. In fact, the tabs I reloaded a few hours ago to check still show it.
