User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0
Steps to reproduce:
Go to https://www.twitch.tv and open any stream.
Actual results:
On stream start there is a chance that the sound starts crackling. If an advertisement is being played first there is a chance that the advertisement crackles while the stream after will also crackle or the advertisement does not crackle while the stream might then crackle once it starts after the advertisement.
If the sound crackles refreshing the tab fixes it most of the times (or another refresh might be required).
Expected results:
The sound should not crackle at all.
Additional details:
This is an old issue (I did not keep track but it probably is now over 1 year old). I had not much intention to post it in the past because Twitch is by no means a site that shines with sophistication and it exposed in the past and still exposes a good amount of too significant bugs - so I would not be surprises if this is actually a Twitch issue. But since the issue already exists for a too long time and is quite annoying (refreshing the site after an advertisement has been played to workaround this issue has a good chance to immediately play another advertisement - and if the issue appears again after this second advertisement and you refresh guess what might happen again (and from my knowledge no current Adblocker/filterlists are currently capable of handling this specific issue)). Sometimes the crackling appears to be more frequent and other times less frequent so it could be a bit tricky to test. Today I also noticed 2 times that the sound just started to crackle while the stream was playing for some minutes (roughly 30-60 minutes).

I couldn't manage to reproduce this issue.
Could you please retest this using the latest Nightly build (https://nightly.mozilla.org/) using a new clean Firefox profile (https://goo.gl/AWo6h8) without any of your settings.

Before doing a test on a new profile on the current Nightly I wanted to test how reliable I can reproduce this issue now with my current profile and Firefox 81.0.1. On opening a stream and refreshing it a total of 50 times the issue didn't appear once (while casually using Twitch causes this issue usually to appear multiple times a day) so trying to test for this issue and reproducing it might be very labile.

Assigning "Core: Audio/Video" component for this issue.

I did not see this issue for quite a while now - possibly even shortly after I reported it. I guess either Firefox or some system components fixed it randomly over time or this was just indeed a Twitch issue and got fixed. In any case since this issue seems to not exist anymore I'm closing this report.
