Hey Sam,
I tried reproducing this issue on the latest versions of Firefox Nightly 83.0a1 (2020-10-11), beta 82.0b9 and release 81.0.1 but the tabs were responsive for me.
Can you test the issue while in Safe Mode. You can find helpful info here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode .
Also a fresh new profile could help. You can find more about creating a new profile here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_6-create-a-new-firefox-profile .
If possible, you can test this issue on the nightly build as well. Download the build from : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/all/ .

I restarted in Safe Mode, and I'm having the same issue. Also created a new profile and have same issue. Installed nightly and have same problem. Weird right? Same behavior on both iMac and MacBook Pro. Again, when I display the title bar, tabs return to normal. Is it my imagination, but do tabs 4 and 5 always cause the problem?

So sorry not to have added that I'm on Big Sur Beta, Versio 11.0 Beta (20A5384c).

Also adding that I have my browser customized with "compact" density.

Setting a component for this issue in order to get the dev team involved.
If you feel it's an incorrect one please feel free to change it to a more appropriate one.

This is most likely a duplicate of bug 1669866. Please update to the latest beta version of macOS 11 (currently 20B5012d) as this should resolve the issue reported here. Please reopen should you still see this issue. Thank you!
