Steps to reproduce:

open Firefox

go to https://codepen.io/kleinfreund/pen/NmpKZM

Actual results:

when in light theme the page should be in dark mode when in light theme it seems to Page shows up as dark mode on first load on Linux but not on windows.

Expected results:

The page appears as dark theme.

Nope -- I see the page immediately show up in Dark Mode when the DevTools Inspector is set to force dark mode.
