Steps to reproduce

1.open https://www.baidu.com/
2.enable desktop mode
3.login with a baidu account
4."设置" -- "搜索设置"

5."首页设置" -- enable "搜索结果：搜索结果是否在新窗口打开"(Does the search result open in a new window)

6.search something on desktop mode baidu website (type something in the search box, then press the enter key on the keyboard, not a button on the web page), it will pop up a blank page
7.Cannot open any website unless restarted firefox

The user reports that this is also reproducible on GeckoViewExample, and causes the browser to completely stop working until restart.
