(Whiteboard: [win:touch])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:82.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/82.0
Firefox for Android
Steps to reproduce:
Using Windows 10 Home Version 2004 in tablet mode I focus a website input box e.g. having the Google site open in Firefox
Actual results:
The on-screen keyboard is shown, Firefox seems to update its window (Firefox shortly flashes) and the on-screen keyboard vanishes, so I cannot enter anything into the input box
Expected results:
The on-screen keyboard should have stayed on screen with the input box being focused

This issue does not occur if the Firefox window is pinned to half size left or right

A few core Microsoft Programs (Wordpad, File Explorer) are also affected from this Bug.
But not Settings or Calendar or Edge (or Chrome).

Easy workaround found here by switching the OS on-screen keyboard setting from (default/first option) full screen width to the slightly less width second option (reproducable again by switching back to full width)

Same issue. Confirmed.
Impossible to work with the browser in Tablet mode. Should be prioritized higher.

One nuance: it happens with the wide type of keyboard.
Workaround: change the type of keyboard to the floating one (e.g. go to Notepad, and open the on-screen keyboard, and go to keyboard settings), then go back to Firefox.

Increasing severity due to increased reports. Gabriele, I'll assign to you not necessarily to fix but maybe if this is a good first/second bug to investigate.

Hi Gabriele,
there was another question in Firefox support about it today and I remembered that you wrote "will have a look in the coming weeks" - but that was already ten months ago (the time flies!). Have you already had a chance to have a look?
Thanks!

I'll take over this bug, as it will likely roll into my other Windows Touch work
