Steps to reproduce:
Open a new tab
Go back to first tab and open another tab.
Now close that latest tab again..
Actual results:
Browser jumps to the last opened tab (right to latest tab), but not to the tab the latest was opened from ("parent" tab).
Expected results:
Browser should jump back to "parent" tab.

btw. it would come handy if the browser would jump back to parent of parent, and maybe one more level up. It's helpful when researching.

REPRODUCIBLE with unzipped unofficial (by wg9s) De SeaMonkey 2.53.6 beta 1 pre Mozilla/5.0 (NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 Build 20201024210004 (Newly created User Profile, Default Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit
STR:
- Open LM Browser, modify Tabbed Browsing settings as per attachment if necessary.
- relaunch SM, visit this page as only TAB
- In bar at top of this page ˋrightclick "Browse" → Open in New TABˊ
» TAB opens, focus switches to new TAB - Click TAB heading of this page to switch back to here
- In bar at top of this page ˋrightclick "Advanced Search" → Open in New TABˊ
» TAB opens, focus switches to new TAB - Click Close-X at right end of TAB bar
» TAB "Advanced Search" closes
Expected: focus switches back to this Bug report page
Actual: focus switches to TAB "Browse" which was left from closed TAB "Advanced Search"

Currently only reproduced for WIN
Bug or feature, that is the question here. I prefere "switches back to parent TAB" from which TAB became opened. But what if I switched focus to lots of other TABs before I switch back to "Advanced Search" from (5)? Can I still expect (may be hours later) that focus switches back to parent TAB "Bug Report main page" - maybe hours after "Advanced Search" has been opened from there? Or would I expect in that situation that focus switches to TAB left from closed TAB "Advanced Search"?
Means: I also can find arguments for the new behavior. So minor prority for now.
