Every time I enter any page that uses the ShockWave plug-in it works
perfectly, but when I leave the page, the browser ALWAYS crashes.
I've tried it with the old shockwave plug-in (the one that comes with netscape
7.0), the new one which I have just downloaded. (2002-09-11).
I've also tried it with two different Java Virtual Machines: the one that
comes with the Sun J2SDK, and the IBMJava2 one.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Just enter any page that contains flash.
2.Wait it to run.
3.Lave the page.
Actual Results:
The browser crashes.
Expected Results:
Continue running.

I use a local X server (version 4.2.1) on a Slack 8.1, which would be the normal
DISPLAY=:0.0.

well, even DISPLAY 127.0.0.1:0 or :0.1 does crash flash5 (see bug 154427)
btw beta flash6 on linux seems work ok.

I have some fresh talkback IDs, some as I just logged in at mail.yahoo.com...
and other are from leaving www.symphonyx.com (main page, which has flash). I'm
sure that the problem at mail.yahoo.com is with the shockwave plugin, because
when I delete it from the plugins directory the mail works wonderfully well.

well, I can confirm stack traces from TB reports show crash after
libflashplayer.so calls into libc.so.
I cannot reproduce this problem if DISPLAY=:0.0:(
Andre, could you try just DISPLAY=:0 w/o screen #?

I'm using linux nightly 2002110804. I can't reproduce this. The page at the
given URL doesn't have any flash content on it right now. If I click "Enter",
I'm taken to <http://www.symphonyx.com/index2.htm>. On this page, the menu
across the top is implemented in flash, in a separate frame. But leaving this
page doesn't cause a crash.
Andre, can you reproduce this with a current copy of mozilla? Can you provide a
new URL which produces the problem? What version of the flash plugin are you using?
