Steps to reproduce:
Upgrade from Firefox 82.0.3 to 83.0 on macOS.
Actual results:
Type sizes of around 150px and larger are rendering very blurry. As if they are upscaled.
Expected results:
Under Firefox 82.0.3 these would render crisply.

For comparison, the same type renders fine in Firefox 82.0.3.

Also I think this is a separate issue to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1678915, possibly.

I can reproduce the issue on Nightly85.0a1 Windows10 if WebRender is enabled.

This looks like it may be the same issue as bug 1677551. If you set gfx.webrender.force-disabled
to true
in about:config
, and restart Firefox, does the font become crisp again?
