(Keywords: regression, Whiteboard: [regression 78.4.3->78.5.0])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/86.0.4240.198 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
After update to 78.5.0 I was unable to connect to my pop server (no security password used) Downgrading to 78.0 fixed the problem. Tested that new account on private server could be confirmed when testing in new account setup. (did not test correctly in 78.5.0. I did not re-upgrade to 78.5.
Actual results:
Thunderbird reported "Failed to connect to server <servername>"
No emails sent or received.
Expected results:
Be able to get my mail.

Is this Comcast or another account?
I'm having no problem with my Comcast POP3 account on Windows 10 or Ubuntu Linux.

I am using an in-house (private) server without a DNS entry.

You can run an older build from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/, then start with --allow-downgrade

I'm pretty sure this is bug 1677806. Try 78.6 once that's out.
