User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 I have seen these behaviours when editing e-mail in mozilla. 1. Arrow keys refuse to go down below a certain point in the e-mail message when there is more text below where the cursor is, but if you click below with the mouse, then the cursor is happy to go where the mouse tells it to go. 2. Arrow keys send cursor to strange places in the document. You might go down and then all of a sudden the cursor is up in a section above where you are editing. 3. Pressing the arrow key down arbitrarily skips over a line. 4. Clicking the mouse pointer after text on a line sometimes does not send the cursor to the end of that line. 5. Pressing delete at the beginning of a line deletes the last character on that same line. I am providing info to be able to reproduce [4] above. I regularly see these problems but most times I'm too busy to detail a report case up for you. I'll try to add more info as time goes on. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Grab the attachment I will provide and append it to your Drafts folder with a text editor. 2.Restart mozilla. 3.Open the message from the drafts folder for editing, with a double-click. 4.Click the mouse pointer just before the "p" on the line that says "private IP" 5.Press backspace Actual Results: It deletes the "P" at the end of the same line. Expected Results: acted correctly
I've submitted it compressed so that it is exactly as-is and no CR/LF conversion happens in the submission process.
sorry I'm reproducing case[5] not [4]

There are too many issues in this bug; please file a separate bug for each issue. This bug will only cover issue #5 in the original report: Pressing delete at the beginning of line deletes the last character on line -->Editor:Core David Campbell--is it possible for you to get a newer build of mozilla and test it to see if this is still a problem? I have a feeling that this problem was fixed. Please comment here in this bug with your findings.

I too had major problems with the mail editor of 1.1: It was not posible to select / save attachments It was not posible to enter the editing area of the message These problems appear to have been fixed in 1.2b
David, do you still see problem #5 in the latest build? I think this problem is one which I fixed, but I'm not sure becasue I'm unable to view your attachment.
reporter (David): can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla (for example, 1.3a)? if so, please comment again with details. if not, please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
No response from reporter for >30 days. resolving. Reporter: If you can reproduce this with a recent build of Mozilla, then please reopen this bug and give details. Thanks.

I've just posted today http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=191981 which is another one of these weird editing errors, but as per a request made here, I've made it in a new bug number.
