Details
When used in the context of AV1 decoding, DAV1DDecoder adjusts the dav1d_default_settings values to maximize performance. We should do something similar (but potentially different since the use case if different) for AVIF. This will probably be easier to do once we've enabled AVIF by default and have more real-work data to work with.
