User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:85.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/85.0
Steps to reproduce:
Went to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwykKZMc3nc&feature=youtu.be
Actual results:
When the page for the video loaded, I clicked the play icon in the middle of the video to start watching. I saw the spinning wheel behind the play icon and, after a few seconds, nothing. It just sits there and won't load.
Tested on Edge and works ok there.
Expected results:
It should play.

Similar thing happens here: https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/16/media/fox-news-attacks-bill-gates/index.html
After clicking play, spinning loader animation and the...nothing but a black screen.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.
Could you navigate to about:config
and set the media.rdd-process.enabled
pref to false and see if that fixes the issue?
same problem, cannot stream any video from any site at all. Same as desribed above. CNN, ABC7NY, Netflix, etc. Beta 85. 0b2.
NO problems using any other browser, and I have tried the "tweaks" recommended in the help forum
Same problem since 85.0b2. Streams are "stuck" loading and not playing. Youtube did work setting media.rdd-process.enabled to false but other sites/streams are still "stuck" and not playing. Other browsers are working just fine loading and playing video content.

Could you navigate to
about:config
and set themedia.rdd-process.enabled
pref to false and see if that fixes the issue?
Now testing with 85.0b3, flipping media.rdd-process.enabled to "false" makes everything I've tried work again.
This sounds like bug 1682834 based on the above, marking it as a duplicate so we can track progress in a single place.

I just tested with 85.0b4 and set media.rdd-process.enabled=true and Youtube, Bandcamp and vids on CCN are working again. Can anyone else confirm?
