Details
(Whiteboard: [mac:hang])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 11.1; rv:84.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/84.0
Steps to reproduce:
macOS Big Sur 11.1
Firefox 84.0.1
MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)
- Attach MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) to Apple Pro Display XDR in clamshell-mode
- Let laptop go to sleep naturally (external monitor screen is black)
- wake up the laptop using an external mouse/keyboard
Notes:
- I've seen this happen in other cases like just merely connecting the laptop to the Pro Display, but I've not been able to reliably reproduce it.
- I've not been able to reproduce it when not connected to the monitor. I do not have any other external monitors to compare it to.
Actual results:
Firefox window is unresponsive — it cannot open or close tabs or move between tabs. Cursor in text-field is not blinking. However, it is able to quit properly without being Force-Quit.
Expected results:
Firefox should function normally.

This may be a duplicate of bug 1422855. Could you verify with the steps in bug 1422855 comment 81?
I can reliably reproduce bug 1422855 comment 81 on my setup.
See my comment on that bug for details.

I can confirm this also happens on a M1 Mac mini using a Thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable connected to an LG Ultra HD.
