cannot propagate proxy setting to Mozilla during netswitcher APPLY process

Can't propagate the proxy settings? Like... Netswitcher will not apply its proxy
settings to Mozilla? That would be their problem, AFAIK.
Reporter, is this how you mean propigate? Where netswitcher sends its settings
to Mozilla? Please clarify.

Reply to additional comment #1:
Usually, I connect to a certain network, and run netswitcher to "apply" the
settings that I need there including proxy settings, and consequently start MS
IE with the proxy settings just "applied" by Netswitcher.
I've been using this for almost a year now - works perfectly!
Tried to do the same with Mozilla (instead of MS IE) since it is supported in
Netswitcher 3.2.6, but Mozilla does not react to the netswitcher settings.
Could you please explain point nr. 4:
-------------------------------------- netswitcher release notes ------------
Release Notes for Version 3.2.6 (TBD):
1. n/a here
2. Added support for Mozilla 1.0 browser. Note that in the event that more
than one "Netscape" browser is installed on the system, NetSwitcher will
support only one of them. The priority is: Mozilla, Netscape 6, any other
version in that order.
3. n/a here
4. Added a check for a running copy of either Netscape Navigator or Mozilla
after the APPLY is selected. Since both of these applications always WRITE
their settings out when they exit, any changes NetSwitcher might make are lost
when they exit. If a running copy of Netscape or Mozilla is found, the user is
asked if he wants it closed or will close it himself.

Now, I can't pretend to really understand the code that makes this thing tick,
so I may be incredibly wrong here. Forgive me if I am. But I think this is
mostly correct ;)
Right, this looks to me like something changed between Mozilla 1.0 and 1.2a.
But I really can't say for sure.
Mozilla is designed to write its settings out when it is exited. If Netswitcher
writes the settings while Mozilla is running, the settings are placed in
Mozilla's configuration files. However, Mozilla dosen't automatically read the
preferences in. When you go to exit Mozilla, it calls the code to write the
preferences it knows, and it will overwrite your changes. The proper fix is to
have netswitcher tell Mozilla to reread the changes (if this is even possible),
or to exit Mozilla before running the netswitcher.
Either way, it seems to me that something changed in Mozilla 1.0 to 1.2a. I
will check on this today, and get back to you.

reporter: is this still an issue with a recent build of mozilla (for example,
1.2.1), and a recent version of this other app? if so, please comment again with
details. if not, please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
