User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:84.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/84.0

Steps to reproduce:

Open a Firefox window in KDE, then open a game that disables compositing.

Actual results:

The existing Firefox window gets an excessive window border. (See attached)

Expected results:

The existing Firefox window gets a normal looking window border.

Worth noting new windows created after compositing has been disabled are not affected by this.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

I see you use Fedora, which version? And is that X11 or Wayland session?
Thanks.

I see you use Fedora, which version?

Fedora 33, KDE Spin

And is that X11 or Wayland session?

X11; can't disable Wayland compositing ;)

Thanks.

Thank you!

Is Firefox running when compositing is changed? When you launch Firefox after the compositing change, is it ok?

Flags: needinfo?(Wyatt710)

If Firefox is running when compositing goes from enabled to disabled, the large border appears.

If Firefox is launched after composting goes from enabled to disabled, the border remains a small grey border, the black border does not appear (as in the screenshot just above).
