Why not to make it work on mail/news? I mean, for example, I receive lots of mails each day I have to click on a link. But as each link is opened delays to be shown, I would like to be able to click each link and continue on mail/news window, to click on the link on the next mail, without being kicked to the new window and have to return back to mail/news window to click on the next link. I think this will be great. OPEN THE LINK IN A NEW WINDOW WITHOUT STEALING FOCUS, or IN BACKGROUND. :-) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.none. this is not a bug 2. 3.

Confirming. Changing platform to all/all. This would be nice to have, clicking on links inside mailnews has been annoying for quite some time.

Mike, did you mean "new tab" when you said "new window"? Related: bug 56690 Allow opening link in a new window behind current window bug 180042 (Flamewar about what middle-clicking on a link in mail should do)
