I noticed this first time yesterday or today after I updated Nightly.
Using Fedora 33, Gnome, Wayland, and Firefox with Wayland + Webrender.

The screenshot shows what the contextmenu on a link looks like. The issue happens only every now and then.

Do you use sw-wr or HW WebRender?
Can you use mozregression to find the wrong commit?
Thanks.

Olli, mind sharing which GPU/driver this happens on? I.e. sharing about:support?
To me this looks as if Mutter would get a wrong texture stride, i.e. the content does not look like an complete random garbage but like text on grey background, just with wrongly aligned lines. Does the issue get fixed when the menu is repainted, e.g. after hovering over it?

FWIW, I also saw this the day Olli filed it, and haven't seen it since. I also have an AMD gpu, though a different one (AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (NAVI10, DRM 3.40.0, 5.10.9-201.fc33.x86_64, LLVM 11.0.0)).

Saw this once yesterday too. (Radeon RX Vega (VEGA10, DRM 3.35.0, 13.0-CURRENT, LLVM 11.0.0) mesa-git wlroots-git wayfire-git) Seems like a hard to reproduce heisenbug.

Can you please test latest nightly under Wayland? A new popup handling code landed there.
Thanks.
