I received a mail that when I try to read it, the mozilla application hangs and
never give back hand !

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

This problem does occur with Mozilla 1.1 and 1.2alpha (I did not tested others)

are you able to open the attachment in the browser?

If a remove the header, I get the attached screenshot ! Does not lock.

I'm using mozilla in XFree with Xinerama enabled.
Is there a way to follow actions made by the browser or the mail reader ?

you are probably seeing bug 168170.  are you using xfs for fonts?  could you
grab a stacktrace with gdb (for comparison with bug 168170)?

Yes, xfs is used.

Hum , I started mozilla with script_args="-g" for starting gdb. Disabled SIG32
and typed run. Nescape Feedback agent popped up, so no way to go to email window !

Incidents are TB11013833W for one browser (Mozilla 1.1) and TB11013662Z for
Mozilla 1.2a !

Am I doing wrong ? or should I use another Mozilla version ?

The bug mentioned was fixed when an offending patch causing the regression was
backed out 0924. Is this bug still present with a build fresher then that (why
nnot try in 1.2b)?

Using 1.2b !

Bug seems not being resolved. Mail still hanging but since, I've changed my X
environment. I'm using my own XFree86 with devel version from August 2002 CVS
branch.

Before, I was using 1.2a with XFree 4.2 and mail was hanging.

Now, I'm using 1.2b with XFree 4.2.99 and mail is still hanging and when I'm
displaying things with foreign fonts, it is worse (more hanging than before). So
troubles may come from xfs !

For exemple, http://avatarfile.hanmail.net, makes my Mozilla navigator and my
Opera one hanging !

Is this the reason ?
Do you want me to make more investigations ? Don't hesitate !

I'm not sure why I mentioned bug 168170.  What I meant to say was bug 136362! 
The behavior in the browser sounds very much like that bug.  You might try the
workaround from bug 136362 comment 36 to see if it helps out with the email.

Mozilla 1.2 is getting quite old, 

Reporter could you please retest with a newer version, either the latest
milestone or a recent nightly ?
