(Whiteboard: [proton-tabs-bar] [fixed by bug 1688072])

In the old tab design I could throw my mouse pointer to the top left corner of a maximized window (on Windows) and click to select the left-most tab. With the new design, I have to move the pointer right a couple of pixels.

Similarly, the Proton tabs don't reach the top edge of the screen in a maximized window on Windows. This makes switching between tabs slower and really annoying because you must precisely position the mouse pointer over the tab you want to focus.

This is a regression. The tabs in pre-Proton Firefox, Chrome, and Edge all reach the left and top edges of the screen in a maximized window.

OS: Unspecified → Windows
Summary: adjust clickable area for left-most to include top left corner of maximized window → Proton tabs don't reach left or top edges of the screen in a maximized window

This was fixed by bug 1688072.
