+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1686867 +++

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0

I SO wish I could re-open Bug # 1686867 from which I cloned this bug, as now you can not see the thread from the previous bug, which I believe is important.

Bug # 1686867 was marked as resolved because I thought the data loss was fixed in the current version for Linux Debian which is 78-7-0.

The issue is not fixed.

Today we had another calendar event disappear. 100% Confirmed. The event that disappeared was initially added to the calendar by accepting an e-mail meeting invitation.

Please let me know what you need to track this down and get it fixed. Again, this is data loss.

Debian 10
Kernel 4.19.160-2
Thunderbird 78.7.0 64-bit

Kind regards,
Jeffrey Bruton

What type of calendar? Local, CalDAV, or what?
Note that bug 1664731 fixed recurring events (primarily), though from that there was bug 1686466 (fixed on trunk only so far).

Hi Magnus,
Everything the exact same as before, which is why I wanted to re-open Bug # 1686867 .
Local calendar.

Are there individual files from the bug 1686466 fix that we can replace in our install?

Please suggest the way forward to stop data loss and try to get this fixed.

Kind regards, Jeffrey Bruton

I wouldn't replace individual files.
Since we fixed more cases in bug 1686867, it would be interesting to know if you still see it in tb 86b2 - which should be out soon.
Other than that, we'd need some steps to reproduce.
