www.google.com is a web site that happens to use a font that when requested from
the xfs font server does not return, or returns something that makes mozilla
lock up. This bug only pops up when xinerama is on for a dual head machine. The
KDE team has dealt with this bug as well. Xfree86+xfs+xinerama=wierd lock ups.
Not all configurations will trigger this bug, bug mine did for both mozilla and KDE.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.open up mozilla
2.goto www.google.com
Actual Results:
mozilla locks up and does not return about 95% of the time. very very very rare
times it will work, but will lockup as soon as a "wrong" font needs to be loaded.
Expected Results:
not locked up.
If one removed the x font server from the equasion then there is not problem,
For example, in the XF86Config file instead of haveing a "FontPath" set to the
font server you'd list all the font directories that the xfs font server would
have in it's configureation.
The KDE guys could probably give a much better technical explenation.
I marked this "Major" as although it was a "Blocker" for me to deploy here at
work, I found a solution... it's just now I have yet more "post linux install"
work and configuration todo for each machine. :(
