Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:85.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/85.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open some tabs
  2. Restart computer
  3. Open Firefox again

Actual results:

Tabs you had opened before restart are reopened

Expected results:

Firefox should start fresh, without any tabs opened

Please give it some attention, it's a huge privacy problem, because someone with access to your drive can view what sites you were browsing even with browsing history disabled.

Happens both on Windows and Linux.

Have you set the restore previous session preference? If you don't want that to happen, simply unset that preference.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Session Restore' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Session Restore

I was not able to replicate this, i tried with windows 10 64bit and firefox 85 release

please go to about:preferences
and see if "restore previous session" checkbox is checked
