User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:88.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/88.0
Steps to reproduce:
downloaded and tried to install mozregression. the installation is blocked by gdata and therefore the tool cannot be used easily
Actual results:
- download https://github.com/mozilla/mozregression/releases/tag/4.0.15
- start the downloaded installer
- after extraction completed the installer is not started, but gdata notifies about a detected virus / malware
Expected results:
- no problem reported by antivirus software

Are you able to test with 4.0.14 as well please? 4.0.15 had some changes that were an attempt to deal with other spurious virus warnings, but seems to have triggered some new ones instead.

tested on https://github.com/mozilla/mozregression/releases/tag/4.0.14 I get a different malware error but at the end the download is as un-usable as the 4.0.15 release from a end-user perspective

Thanks for reporting. This is the same issue as bug 1647533. Unfortunately I don't know of any easy solutions.
