169702 - hand typed URL's are ignored when return key is pressed

regardless of the URL entered on the address line, the return key does not initiate an http 
request to load the page.  It just sits there with a blinking cursor as if the Return key was 
never touched.  

IE has no problem in this area.  I've been using Mozilla for two months and this just 
appeared this week.  I've deleted Mozilla 1.0 to try 1.1 and now 1.2 without success on 
this issue.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.type in any url
2. hit the enter key
3.nothing happens

Actual Results:  
it acts as if the enter key was never touched

Expected Results:  
should try to load the URL requested

I've deleted and installed twice now without solving the problem.  I'm using OS X Jaguar 
and this problem didn't occur until one week after I installed Jaguar.  It worked perfectly 
the first week Jaguar was installed.

Please try to clear the history (preferences\navigator\History)
and be sure that you not selected "offline" (File/work Offline).

If you still see the problem create an additional test Profile with the mozilla
profile Manager.

Suggested cures such as clearing the history, documents, etc. do not work.  
Deleting and reinstalling the entire Mozilla package does not work.
Rebooting the computer does not work.  
Deleting Netscape files does not work.

This is a persistent bug on my system which has rendered Mozilla unusable.  I'm not 
dependent on Mozilla, but I'd like it to be successful for many reasons.

WorksForMe using FizzillaCFM/2002091014 on 10.1.5. Marcus, why do you not agree
that this is a duplicate of bug 90337?
