After upgrading my mozilla 1.0 to the 1.2 alpha, I've had a new bug :

Under the status bar, there is a text block of about 5 centimeters.

This can happen when you install over older builds.
You should always uninstall older versions of Mozilla before installing a new
build. Try that now, and delete the "chrome" and "components" directories in the
installation dir before installing anew. (The "plugins" dir you leave as is.)
