As we discussed via e-mail we should evaluate if it's possibly to identify iframes whose origin is known to only serve ads and lower their priority compared to the main content. This should improve the responsiveness of the elements the user is looking at (and interacting with) and possibly help with battery life too.

This might indeed help given that I saw a similar issue recently on golem.de (bug 1698338). The ads were permanently using most of the CPU.
